Then select quit race. You can't quit the first race for some reason. This takes you back to the career mode menu. Then hit B to go back to the main menu that you couldn't get to in the first place. Pretty messed up way to get there huh? Anyway, from there I was able to find the multiplayer split screen setup.
No, Forza Motorsport split-screen is not a supported feature at launch, and is not expected to come any time soon despite it having been available in several past games in the series. This was confirmed by Turn 10 Studios in the official Forza Monthly livestream for August 2023.
Either devs skip split screen entirely for the Series (if they can't get it working on the Series S) or Microsoft removes split screen parity. One of them (or both) is the problem, the devs bad decisions or Microsoft's unrealistic expectations, the hardware is just the tool and it's a tool very affordable and appreciated by many fans.
